Frequently Asked Questions

Everything about how bounties, payouts, and the marketplace work on Crexa. If your question isn't answered here, get in touch.

What is Crexa?

Crexa is a creator exchange with two sides. Creators and brands post clip bounties — you provide content, set a rate per view, and pay only for views that actually happen. Separately, every profile is a storefront where anyone can sell services directly: sponsored posts, edits, shoutouts, whatever they offer.

Who is Crexa for?

Creators and brands who want their content distributed, clippers who want to earn from editing and posting, and anyone selling a promotional service. Every account can participate in both sides.

Does it cost anything to join?

No. Creating an account, building a profile, and browsing campaigns are all free. Fees only apply when money actually moves.

How do I earn from a bounty campaign?

Find a campaign, submit a clip you've posted, and wait for the creator to approve it. Once approved, you earn at the campaign's stated rate as verified views come in.

How do view counts get verified?

You submit your current view count and the campaign creator reviews it. Some campaigns only accept updates at full threshold increments — if a campaign pays per 10,000 views, updates land at 10,000, 20,000, and so on rather than arbitrary numbers.

When do I get paid?

Once you've earned a claimable balance, request a payout. The campaign creator approves it, and the money transfers to your connected Stripe account.

Do I need a Stripe account?

Yes, before you can be paid. It takes a couple of minutes and is required for any earnings to reach you.

Why was my clip rejected?

Creators review every submission against their campaign's rules. Rejections come with a reason.

What does it mean if my clip is flagged?

Flagging pauses future earnings on that clip pending review. Anything you already earned stays yours — flagging never claws back money.

How do I run a campaign?

Create it, set your rate per view and total budget, optionally attach source content, then fund it. Once payment clears, it goes live and clippers can submit.

What does a campaign cost?

Your budget goes entirely to clippers. The platform fee is added on top and shown before you pay — nothing is skimmed out of what clippers earn.

Can I add more budget later?

Yes. Use "Add budget" on your campaign at any point while it's active or paused.

Do I have to accept every clip?

No. You approve each submission individually, and only approved clips earn.

Can I provide my own footage?

Yes — upload files directly, or link a Drive or Dropbox folder. Clippers can also work from your linked source content on their own.

What can I sell on my profile?

Anything legal you want to offer — a sponsored post, an edit, a shoutout, a consultation. Set your own price and description.

How does buying a service work?

Send a request with a brief. The seller accepts or declines. Once you confirm the work is complete, payment transfers to them.

What if the seller never delivers?

You control completion — payment only releases when you confirm. If an order stalls, contact us and an admin can resolve it.

What is a trust score?

A 0–10 score built from completed work on Crexa — approved clips, settled payouts, and completed orders. New accounts show "New — no history yet" rather than a low score.

What does the verified badge mean?

The account has been reviewed and verified by our team. It's distinct from trust score, which is earned through activity.

How do you prevent fake views?

View submissions are automatically screened for unusual growth patterns and surfaced for review. Campaign creators can also flag any clip, which pauses future earnings pending review.

Is my payment information safe?

All payments run through Stripe. Crexa never sees or stores your card details.

What are the fees?

Campaign creators pay a fee on top of their budget. Service sellers pay a fee out of their listed price. Both are shown before any payment, and rates may vary by amount.

Can I edit a campaign after it's live?

Yes. Title, description, cover image, rules, and source content can be changed any time. Payout terms can only be improved — you can raise your rate, add budget, extend the deadline, add platforms, or raise the per-clip cap. Reducing terms isn't possible; create a new campaign instead.

If a campaign's rate increases, does my approved clip change too?

Your rate locks in the moment your clip is approved. Later increases apply to submissions approved after the change. What you were promised is what you earn.

Can I add more budget to a campaign?

Any time, while active or paused. Use "Add budget" on the campaign page. The platform fee applies to the added amount at your current rate, shown before you pay.

How do I know if a campaign's terms have changed?

Every campaign shows its edit history publicly. Check it before you start work.

What happens if I cancel a campaign?

Unspent budget is refunded to your original payment method, minus a cancellation fee. The original platform fee isn't refunded. You can't cancel while clippers have unpaid earnings — settle those first.

Do I need to disclose that a clip is sponsored?

Yes. Content posted through Crexa campaigns is paid promotional content, and FTC guidance requires clear and conspicuous disclosure. Use the platform's built-in paid partnership label where one exists, or state it plainly where your audience will actually see it — not buried at the end of a caption or hidden in your bio.

What counts as a clear disclosure?

Something your audience notices and understands before engaging with the content. Platform-native paid partnership tags generally work. A single ambiguous hashtag at the end of a long caption generally does not.

How do ratings work?

After a payout settles or an order completes, both parties can rate each other on a few specific things — quality, communication, and speed. Your rating stays hidden until the other person rates too, or a set number of days passes. That way nobody rates in response to being rated.

Can I change or delete a rating?

No. Ratings are permanent once submitted, which is what makes them worth trusting. Take a moment before you submit.

How do I contact someone about an order?

Every order has its own message thread. Open it from My Orders — both you and the other party can message there.

Will I get a tax form from Crexa?

If your earnings reach the reporting threshold for the year, yes. Confirm your tax information with Stripe when prompted so it goes to the right place. You're responsible for taxes on everything you earn, whether or not a form is issued.
